Secure your Auth0 surface

Tenant configuration, connection settings, and management API credentials that reach further than intended. We don’t connect to Auth0 to collect evidence for its own sake — we connect to secure it, and the compliance artefacts follow from that work.

[01] What This Surface Exposes

Where Auth0 goes wrong

Auth0 goes wrong at the application boundary: wildcard callback URLs and permissive origins turn a login flow into a token theft path.

  • Management API credentials with scopes far beyond the calling application's need
  • Database connections with weak password policy or disabled breached-password detection
  • Applications configured with overly permissive callback URLs or wildcard origins
  • Rules and actions holding secrets in plaintext
  • Tenant log retention shorter than your investigation window

[02] What We Secure

What we watch, catch and fix on Auth0

On Auth0 we review Management API scope per client, because that credential can reshape your entire identity tier.

  • Management API scope reviewed per client, since this credential can reshape your whole identity tier
  • Connection security settings checked against your own standard, not the Auth0 default
  • Callback and origin configuration audited for wildcards that enable token theft
  • Rules and actions scanned for embedded secrets
  • Log retention monitored against your incident response requirement

[03] Where It Lands

Where Auth0 lands in your registers

Directory data drives your access reviews directly: reviewers see live entitlements rather than a spreadsheet exported three weeks ago, and leaver revocation is verified against the systems themselves. The asset register records each identity provider as a critical dependency, and the risk register carries the concentration risk that comes with it — because if this tier fails, everything behind it fails with it.

[04] How We Engage

On Auth0 specifically

On Auth0, we tighten callback configuration, strengthen connection policy, and re-scope management credentials. Migrating custom rules and restructuring tenant separation we plan with your engineers.

Platform licence

Everything you need to find and fix it yourself, with no ceiling on the depth of the answer.

  • Every connected tool monitored for misconfiguration and drift, with findings mapped to the assets and risks they affect
  • Remediation guidance that tells you what is wrong and exactly how to fix it — however deep or awkward the issue is. We are engineers running a security company, so the answer is the real one, not a link to vendor documentation
  • Assets, access reviews, and risk register populated from the tools themselves rather than from spreadsheets
  • Unlimited integrations and unlimited users, with anything missing built within two weeks

Managed service

Every tool you connect through Konfirmity comes under our care, with our team doing the work.

  • Continuous misconfiguration and drift monitoring across every connected tool, watched by our analysts rather than by a dashboard waiting for you
  • Incident response led by us, with containment coordinated with your team
  • Remediation performed directly wherever you have granted us the authority to act — and where we cannot act, we project-manage the fix to completion rather than handing you a ticket
  • Decision support on the tools themselves: where something is failing you on capability or costing more than it returns, we will tell you, and help you replace it

[05] Auth0 FAQs

What Auth0 access does Konfirmity need?

Konfirmity needs a machine-to-machine application with read scopes on clients, connections, rules, actions and logs. We do not need write access to assess a tenant. Where remediation is agreed, scopes are added per action rather than granting broad management rights.

Do you check for secrets inside Auth0 rules and actions?

Yes. Rules and actions are code, and code accumulates hardcoded credentials the same way anywhere else. Because they execute in your authentication path, a secret there is unusually valuable to an attacker, so we treat findings here with higher urgency.
