Secure your Qualys surface

Scan coverage gaps, authenticated scan failures, and findings prioritised by real exposure. We don’t connect to Qualys to collect evidence for its own sake — we connect to secure it, and the compliance artefacts follow from that work.

[01] What This Surface Exposes

Where Qualys goes wrong

Qualys goes wrong through authentication failure: a scan that silently falls back to unauthenticated finds far less and still reports clean.

  • Assets in scope but never actually scanned, so coverage looks complete and is not
  • Authenticated scans failing and silently degrading to unauthenticated, which finds far less
  • Findings accumulating past remediation SLAs with no owner
  • Exclusions and exceptions applied without expiry or review
  • Scan schedules missing newly provisioned assets entirely

[02] What We Secure

What we watch, catch and fix on Qualys

On Qualys we verify authentication success per scan and prioritise findings by internet exposure and asset criticality.

  • Coverage reconciled against your asset register rather than the scanner's own target list
  • Authentication success verified per scan, because an unauthenticated scan reporting clean is a false negative factory
  • Findings prioritised by internet exposure and asset criticality, not severity score alone
  • Exception hygiene enforced with expiry dates and recorded justification
  • New asset onboarding into scan scope monitored continuously

[03] Where It Lands

Where Qualys lands in your registers

Findings become risk register entries mapped to the specific assets they affect, with owners and deadlines driven by exposure rather than by CVSS alone. The asset register supplies the criticality that determines priority. Where a finding cannot be fixed, it becomes an accepted risk with a named owner and a review date, not an item that quietly ages out of a report.

[04] How We Engage

On Qualys specifically

On Qualys, we triage findings, assign owners, and drive remediation to closure. Patching that requires downtime or carries regression risk we scope, schedule, and project-manage with your engineers — and where a system cannot be patched, we design the compensating control rather than leaving it open.

Platform licence

Everything you need to find and fix it yourself, with no ceiling on the depth of the answer.

  • Every connected tool monitored for misconfiguration and drift, with findings mapped to the assets and risks they affect
  • Remediation guidance that tells you what is wrong and exactly how to fix it — however deep or awkward the issue is. We are engineers running a security company, so the answer is the real one, not a link to vendor documentation
  • Assets, access reviews, and risk register populated from the tools themselves rather than from spreadsheets
  • Unlimited integrations and unlimited users, with anything missing built within two weeks

Managed service

Every tool you connect through Konfirmity comes under our care, with our team doing the work.

  • Continuous misconfiguration and drift monitoring across every connected tool, watched by our analysts rather than by a dashboard waiting for you
  • Incident response led by us, with containment coordinated with your team
  • Remediation performed directly wherever you have granted us the authority to act — and where we cannot act, we project-manage the fix to completion rather than handing you a ticket
  • Decision support on the tools themselves: where something is failing you on capability or costing more than it returns, we will tell you, and help you replace it

[05] Qualys FAQs

What Qualys access does Konfirmity need?

Konfirmity needs a read-only API user able to list assets, scan results, vulnerabilities and exceptions. That covers coverage reconciliation, authentication verification and remediation tracking.

What if a system genuinely cannot be patched?

Then we design the compensating control rather than leaving the finding open indefinitely. Legacy systems that cannot take a patch are common; what is not acceptable is an accepted risk with no owner, no compensating control and no review date.
